Last night, I had a performance, and I had a solo on one piece. During the first 3rd of the piece, (which was easy to read), I actually lost my place in the music. I eventually recovered, just in time for my solo, which I played well. I got lost due to anxiety. I’m tired of feeling this way when I perform. It’s the only time in life when I actually feel frightened. When I ask myself why I feel this way, I think it’s because I’m petrified of making a mistake, or getting lost. I somehow must get over this.
