Our goal is to prepare students to become highly skilled music educators, music therapists, performers, composers, and conductors. Our programs inspire and develop high standards of teaching, scholarship, performance, and research in music. We are pleased to offer small academic classes, applied study with highly qualified faculty, and careful attention to advising. You’ll work alongside dynamic faculty and dedicated students, developing knowledge and skills to excel in various fields.

The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance represents the performing arts on campus in a highly visible and vibrant environment. Performance opportunities are extensive, with many orchestras, bands, choirs, jazz ensembles, opera, musical theatre, chamber music, and marching band, while collaborative opportunities draw on art’s interdisciplinary character.

At Colorado State University, your training takes place in one of the nation’s finest teaching and performance facilities, the exquisite University Center for the Arts, where a vibrant learning environment fosters creativity and growth.

Degrees
CSU offers Bachelor of Music (B.M.) concentrations in music education, performance, music therapy, jazz studies, and composition, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a music minor.
A range of M.M. and Ph.D. degrees are also offered, as well as an Arts Management master’s degree.
