Hi there,

Students typically have to wait until they’re in college to get internships. Or they attend schools that offer co-op programs to ensure that they get opportunities to work in the field as part of their college experience. As a high school student, you may be able to volunteer to work at a summer music festival, at a music store, for a local band or music venue. Even if you end up running errands or doing other relatively menial tasks, the insights into the music industry world will be well worth it. The other option is to find a summer music program that offers you experience in music industry. Check for some ideas.
